Young woman involved in Kealba police chase may have been kidnapped
A WOMAN involved in a police car ramming and pursuit through Melbourne’s northwest could have been a kidnapping victim, investigators believe.

INVESTIGATORS believe a female passenger involved in a police chase in Melbourne’s northwest overnight may have been kidnapped.
Police arrested a 36-year-old man after the car he was driving, with a 21-year-old female passenger, initially evaded police in the Kealba area shortly after midnight.

Leading Senior Constable Natalie Dean said the car was monitored by police before it rammed two police vans on Mickleham Road in Tullamarine.
Officers then managed to intercept the vehicle on the Western Highway in Ravenhall about 2.30am.
The driver attempted to flee on foot before being arrested by police.
He remains in custody and will be interviewed by detectives.
It’s understood police are looking into whether the young woman was the victim of a kidnapping.
The 21-year-old sustained minor injuries and was taken to hospital. She is known to the man.
No police officers were injured in the ramming.
