It is so random it is almost unbelievable – superstar singer Katy Perry picking up some groceries at a suburban shopping centre.
The Roar singer was snapped at Lidcombe Shopping Centre on Tuesday ahead of her sold out The Lifetimes Tour kicking off in Sydney on Wednesday night.
Perry casually blended in to the crowd, with the exception of her designer Celine trackies.
She cradled Croc-wearing daughter, Daisy Dove, as they and a small low-key group made their way through the two-level centre, chatting as they stood on the travelator amid stores like Aldi, Kmart, Pet O and Spotlight.
Perry, who is married to Hollywood star Orlando Bloom, will play a run of 15 shows with her The Lifetime Tour, three at Sydney’s Qudos Bank Arena starting tonight and then again on June 9 and 10.
Lidcombe is close to Homebush, where production have been setting up the staging for the event, meaning she could have been on the way to the venue for a sound-check.
Perry will travel the country until the end of the month before resuming the tour in the United States.
She announced the dates while in Australia with a spectacular performance at the 2024 AFL grand final that saw the Brisbane Lions triumph over the Sydney Swans.
It is Perry’s fifth concert tour globally and her first in seven years.
Her set will of course include a mix of tracks from her near 25 year career, including the more recent Woman’s World and going back to mega-hits like California Gurls, Teenage Dream, Firework, I Kissed A Girl and Hot n Cold.
