IT was a serendipitous way for Today show host Karl Stefanovic to confirm rumours surrounding his new romance — putting on a very public display yesterday with girlfriend Jasmine Yarbrough on Sydney Harbour.
It was the same spot where the couple met aboard a lavish boat cruise in December.
The loved-up couple joined 50 friends yesterday on the luxury boat Sahana where they enjoyed flutes of champagne while lying on the bow of the vessel — seemingly oblivious to those around them.
Stefanovic spent the afternoon gazing adoringly at his new girlfriend, who at age 33 is nine years his junior.
It is understood the pair were celebrating the birthday of a mutual friend.
“Karl is absolutely smitten,” one friend said.
“Karl is completely head over heels with Jasmine. He has told other friends he is keen to go completely public as he sees her as a legitimate long-term love prospect.”
The 36-metre multi-million-dollar cruiser dwarfed most of the other boats on Sydney Harbour yesterday after taking off from Rose Bay wharf. The two-storey boat boasts a fully equipped bar, dining room, loungeroom, four cabins and is big enough for 70 people.
Yarbrough, a model and shoe designer who was born in Brisbane and is currently based in LA, jetted into the country to waiting paparazzi on Thursday.
And it is believed Stefanovic flew to the US during his Christmas break to spend time with the pretty blonde.
Things are getting serious between the couple with Stefanovic preparing to take his new squeeze as his date to his brother Peter and Sylvia’s Jeffreys’ wedding in April, as well as introduce her to his children Jackson, 17, Ava, 11 and River, 10.
Stefanovic split with wife Cassandra Thorburn late last year after 21 years of marriage.
It is understood their divorce is yet to be settled, with Thorburn having gone public claiming she deserved some of the credit for the TV host’s successful career.
Stefanovic has denied he has rented a northern beaches house for his new love.
