Incredible moment newlyweds share first dance with their dog

These Schoolies sweethearts knew their big day would not be complete without their best friend by their side. SEE THE GORGEOUS PICS

New dog wedding trend hits Sydney

Three’s a crowd, but not for these newlyweds.

Dimity Redcliffe and Mitchell Tindall chose to share their first dance with a very special third wheel, their seven-month-old puppy Peanut.

“How could you not love that moment?” Dimity joked.

The couple, who have been together for a decade, met at Schoolies on the Gold Coast and Mitchell proposed at New Farm Park, among the rose bushes.

They married on May 29 this year at Big Bluff in northern NSW in front of 130 guests, dancing their bridal waltz, with Peanut, to the song Beyond by Leon Bridges.

What was the standout moment of the day?

For both of us, we would say our vows. Hearing each other’s was so emotional and special. And then funny, when we both vowed to either watch Champions League (Dimity) or Real Housewives (Mitch) more often. The other standout moment was our first dance with our puppy Peanut.

What would you do differently?

Nothing. Co-ordinating a “home wedding” takes a lot of work – and I will say, assigning someone outside the wedding party (brother’s girlfriend Meg) to just be the quarterback for the day took so much pressure off and was a last-minute decision that I am so happy with!

What would you spend more or less on?

A videographer is something that is a nice-to-have, not a must-have.

While we haven’t got the final video yet – we are so happy that we invested in that. The day went by so fast, and video is such a special way to look back on the day. We can’t wait.

One thing you wish people told you about planning a wedding?

It’s one big to-do list. Don’t get overwhelmed. Just write it all down, and work through the list like any other list in your life. It is fun!

Best advice for other couples planning a wedding?

The best moment will be standing together, looking out at your combined family and friends – and being thankful.

It is not often in your life you get all those people who love you in a room. Savour that feeling – because it is the best foundation for a great marriage.
