MOVE over Housewives, 2017 is shaping as the year of the Yummy Mummies with the new first ladies of reality TV set to be four glamorous young mums.

Jane Scandizzo, Lorinska Merrington and Rachel Watts from Melbourne and Maria DiGeronimo from Adelaide star in Channel Seven’s new series Yummy Mummies.

The show follows the four during their pregnancies, capturing lavish baby showers, extravagant push presents, luxurious baby moons and the precious first months of motherhood.

``At times the crew became like family,’’ Jane, the wife of celebrity hairdresser Joey Scandizzo, said.

``Something would be happening and you would look around and see a spare pair of hands. You had to use them even if it was in the middle of filming.

“There was one day when the girls came over to meet (her newborn) for the first time. All of a sudden the babies go off, kids are crying, Jagger (her two-year-old son) is getting into the lollies and is on a sugar high; it was chaos.

``We had Josh bouncing one baby and doing the camerawork at the same time, we had the producer looking after Jagger, carrying him around while he was screaming and having a tantrum. After that day we were like, from now on we need nannies on set.’’

Lorinska, wife of former Carlton footballer Andrew Merrington said, the show got very real when she went into labour while filming a piece to camera.

``We were doing an interview and I felt a bit funny, they asked if I was all right and I said `I might just have a bit of a break’,’’ she recalled.

``Then as I was walking it all started to happen.

``I had given my husband a list, when he said, `who do I call first?’ (after the contractions start).

``I said, `you don’t call the hospital, not a manager, you call the producer’.

``On top of everything our house got knocked down the day I actually went into labour.’’

Yummy Mummies will air on Seven early in 2017.
