SPIN King Shane Warne has hinted he has a new TV project in the works that could trump the unauthorised telemovie of his life planned by Channel Seven.

Warne, who was a guest at Emirates Marquee on Derby Day, said while he had nothing to say about the Seven project, he might be taking control of a project of his own.

``I have nothing to say about that other thing, but mid to late next week I will have a very good announcement,’’ Warne said.

``I think you will like it. It could be along similar lines, it might not be, but I think you are going to like it.’’

Warne also spoke of the family ties that led him to purchase his former home in Brighton in August.

The home, that he sold about a decade ago, reportedly set him back about $14 million.

``It was our family home for a long time and unfortunately I moved out and moved on,’’ he said.

``Now years later I paid a lot more for it than I sold it for. Call me silly, call me stupid, call me whatever, but I have not got the kids for too much longer until they go off and do their own things — maybe five — 10 years — so I thought let’s go back to the family home that we had, that we built.

``It is a magnificent home and the guys that were in it last, they have done some great changes to it and I am looking forward to it being our family home again.’’

Warne said he would settle on the house in the new year and move in before heading back the England after the cricket season.

``It is my Melbourne house when I am back here. As a resident of the UK I am only allowed back here 183 days (a year), but with all my work I can’t come back any more than that anyway,’’ he said.

``So I probably spend five or six months of the year here and all that time I am here I am with the kids.’’

Warne was accompanied to Flemington yesterday by his son, Jackson, who soon turns 18.

``It is great. We can do a lot of things together at this age and he is such a good boy. I am very, very proud of him.’’
