Bike boss Nick “the Knife” Forbes allegedly sent a text messages to another bikie referring to a “hot shot” after a police raid. Find out what that and other alleged messages said.

Queensland bikie Nick The Knife Forbes granted bail

Bike boss Nick “the Knife” Forbes allegedly sent text messages suggesting a “mrs” needed a “hot shot” after she had apparently told police information, according to documents.

The text messages are revealed in court documents obtained by the Bulletin after Forbes was accused of trafficking the drug ice and directing other Mongols how to do the same and avoid police.

The court documents said the texts were found when police accessed encrypted messages sent through the AN0M platform.

Forbes has been charged with trafficking dangerous drugs and faced Southport Magistrates Court for a bail hearing on October 21.

He will be contesting the charges and is yet to enter a plea.

Forbes was granted bail under strict conditions – including a $50,000 surety – with Magistrate Jane Bentley noting he was likely to have more contact with bikies if remanded in custody.

In documents tendered in that bail hearing, police explained why they believed Forbes was a risk of interfering with witnesses.

The messages were found on a device using the handle “dirtygrowth” which police allege belonged to Forbes.

The device was fished out of a canal by police divers in June last year after police saw someone throwing it in the water after meeting with Forbes, the court documents allege.

The court documents state on April 2 last year Forbes, using dirtygrowth, had a message exchange with senior Western Australian Mongols member Trent Steven Fitzgerald about an alleged police raid.

The documents claim Forbes allegedly told Fitzgerald: “Mrs is a dog and knows all his passwords bin told by bobby”.

Dog is often used to refer to someone who had spoken to police or betrayed someone.

Fitzgerald allegedly replied: “Yes. I have our lawyer onto it. Phones were on during the raid. I had them wiped. While still on. So they had f*** all there.”

Minutes later Fitzgerald allegedly sent another message saying the “dumb dog Mrs” wrote in her diary information about potentially illegal activities.

“She got bail then the cops seen that and she been hit more (sic) charges lawyer is like she is the dumbest dog in history,” Fitzgerald allegedly wrote.

The court document state that Forbes allegedly replied: “Needs a hot shot. She is going to dog now 20kg that’s 15 to 20 years. Anything you take from them f*** it off as that’s a direct link.”

According to the court document Fitzgerald allegedly replied there was no proof she had been charged but information had been used in court.

Forbes allegedly responded: “You onto it anyway lol”. Police have been given until December 20 to put together a full brief of evidence – a much longer time frame than the usual six week period due to the volume of information to be considered.

The matter will return to court on the same day.
