Sex crime detectives are searching for a man after an alleged incident involving two women on a Geelong train.

Victoria Police transit crime investigators have released images of a male, aged between 18-30, who boarded a V/Line service at Geelong station on September 5.

It will be alleged he performed a lewd act directed at two female passengers shortly after, at about 4.20pm.

Security footage then shows the man getting off the train at Southern Cross Station in Melbourne at about 5.40pm.

“Investigators have released images of a man they believe may be able to assist with their investigation,” a police spokesman said.

He is described as African in appearance with black-coloured hair.

It is believed he was wearing a button shirt, blue dress pants and brown dress shoes.
