Police are investigating after an incident in Gheringhap and Bannockburn on Tuesday that saw a woman forced to use evasive action to get away from two vehicles.

In a post to the Eyewatch – Geelong Police Service Area Facebook page, police said it was believed the victim, who was driving a blue Toyota Prado, was travelling along Bakers Bridge Rd just after 9pm, when she was approached from behind by two vehicles.

It’s believed the two vehicles were a blue Ford Falcon sedan and a black BMW 220i coupe.

“The vehicles followed the victim, before the Ford Falcon stopped in the middle of the road, forcing her to take evasive action,” police said in the post.

“Both vehicles then overtook the victim’s car and continued south towards the Midland Hwy.

“The victim continued on, and upon approaching the intersection of Bakers Bridge Rd and Midland Hwy in Gheringhap, noticed the two vehicles parked on the median strip, with two males standing beside the vehicles.

“As the victim attempted to make a turn onto Midland Hwy, the two men ran towards the victim’s car and attempted to open the doors, however they were locked.

“The victim then drove off, where the vehicles have continued to follow behind as they drove west along the Midland Hwy.”

Police said it’s understood the Ford Falcon travelled alongside the victim and swerved in towards the victim repeatedly, before overtaking the victim, where they waited at the intersection of Midland Hwy and Geelong Rd, Bannockburn, and “threw items at the victim’s vehicle” as it turned left onto Geelong Rd.

“The victim has then driven to the police station, where the vehicles have fled.

“She was not physically inured during the incident.”

Police are looking for anyone who may have been in the area at the time, who may have witnessed the incident, or who may have dashcam footage to contact Bannockburn Police Station on (03) 5281 1260.
