Gateways Support Services has announced a new chief executive officer, six months after his predecessor’s resignation.

Rohan Braddy will take the reins of the disability support service, which has its head office in Geelong, mere months after it recorded a deficit of more than $3.1m.

The service had more than 2200 clients in the 2021-22 financial year, with 311 new clients, according to its annual report.

Mr Braddy will join the organisation from Mambourin Enterprises, where he was chief executive for 20 years.

Mr Braddy has vast experience in the disability sector, also serving as the board chair of National Disability Services – the peak body for Australian Disability Services’ providers.

Mr Braddy said it would be an honour to lead the organisation.

“Gateways is an outstanding organisation with a long and proud track record of providing high-quality, person-centred services,” he said.

“I look forward to meeting and working with the board and staff, in conjunction with the people Gateways supports and their families and carers, to ensure Gateways is well placed to continue to deliver excellent services into the future.”

Stephanie Gunn had been Gateways’ chief executive since her appointment in July, 2019.

Ms Gunn’s resignation from the position was announced in August, 2022.

Gateways chair Keith Ballie said Mr Braddy was chosen after an extensive and extremely competitive selection process.

“This is an exciting time for Gateways as Rohan is a future focused, for-purpose leader who will positively impact how we support our participants and their families,” he said.

Mr Braddy is set to assume his new responsibilities on April 26, 2023.
