Driver flees, man taken to hospital after Hamlyn Heights smash

A driver allegedly fled the scene after two cars collided in Hamlyn Heights on Monday afternoon.

A driver allegedly fled the scene after two cars collided in Hamlyn Heights on Monday afternoon.

Emergency services were called to the intersection of Shannon Ave and Ballarat Rd, near the Sphinx Hotel, about 2.30pm.

No one was trapped following the collision.

An Ambulance Victoria spokeswoman said a man in his 20s sustained upper body injuries and was taken to Geelong hospital in a stable condition.

A Victoria Police spokesman alleged one of the cars involved in collision drove off.

“The car was located a short time later but the driver is yet to be identified,” the spokesman said.
