A mother-of-three has been identified as the victim of a fatal car smash in Winchelsea, as heartbreaking details of the family’s tragic situation are revealed.

Deans Marsh woman Kylie Doak, 55, was killed on the Winchelsea-Deans Marsh Rd just after 10pm on Saturday, with her death sending shockwaves through the community.

A close family friend of Ms Doak, Tegan Mortimer, said her children had been left in a “very difficult” situation with their father also currently in hospital after a road accident in December.

He has required multiple surgeries and remains in rehabilitation at the Epworth in Melbourne.

“They have so much going on already and then this, it is just totally devastating,” Ms Mortimer said.

“We just thought how much can one family take.”

One of her daughters, Rachel, was also injured in the crash on the weekend and remains in Geelong hospital.

Ms Doak was her full time carer.

A fundraiser has been created to support Ms Doak’s children, Rachel, Melissa and Paul.

Ms Mortimer said it was a “daunting” situation.

“We just all want to help and support them as much as we can now,” she said.

“It’s is going to be such a big thing to manage, it is very sad.”

A GoFundMe has already raised over $10,000.

A 31-year-old Mount Duneed man has been charged with culpable driving, dangerous driving causing death, and dangerous driving causing serious injury as a result of the tragedy.

Police allege a white Volkswagen Passat collided with a green Toyota Avalon.
