Shonel Bryant has been remembered as a vibrant and selfless woman who dedicated her life to raising awareness for breast cancer.

The 39-year-old mother of two died on Friday from terminal lung cancer.

Ms Bryant was just 36 when she was diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer in 2019.

She beat the cancer and founded popular support platform Support Your Girls, but about a year later the cancer returned.

Ms Bryant had further treatment and just five months ago her scans were completely clear. But in December, Ms Bryant had another and specialists found the cancer had spread to her lungs. Ms Bryant’s family said on social media that her charity was her legacy.

“You left this world steeped in love from your community, without fear or trepidation”.

Friend Renee Enright wrote: “Every conversation with you was rich, deep and real. You had the ability to hold space and really see people.

“What an impact you made to so many lives Nel.”
