Bell Post Hill man charged after Norlane alleged aggravated burglary
A man who was on bail has been charged after an alleged aggravated burglary in Norlane on Thursday afternoon.

A man has been charged following an alleged aggravated burglary in Norlane during which a firearm was discharged.
Armed Crime Squad detectives charged the 20 year-old Bell Post Hill man with aggravated home invasion, common law kidnap, armed robbery, two counts of common law assault, prohibited person possess firearm and commit a schedule one offence while on bail.
A patrolling unit observed masked offenders fleeing an address on Station St in Norlane about 2pm on Thursday.
It is alleged a number of people had previously entered the property, demanding cash from the 44-year-old male occupant.
Police believe a firearm was discharged into the roof of the premises.
The occupant inside at the time was not physically injured during the incident and he was able to get to safety.
Members of the Critical Incident Response Team then negotiated with the Bell Post Hill man who hid inside a neighbouring house.
He exited the property just before 6.30pm and was arrested at the scene.
The man was interviewed by investigators on Friday morning, was subsequently charged and remanded to appear at Geelong Magistrates’ Court on Monday.
A sawn off longarm firearm was located hidden inside the roof of the property and Police believe the parties involved were known to each other.
It is understood a woman who was also involved in the incident is on the run.
The investigation remains ongoing.
