Full list: NT Performing Arts Awards winners announced at Alice Springs ceremony

The Territory’s top talent travelled to the Red Centre for the performing arts industry’s night of nights – with some big winners emerging. Find out who and see the pics from the night.

A record 124 nominations were whittled down to crown the top performing artists and organisations for the year, in an award ceremony showcasing the “the outstanding talent and the creativity” of the Territory on Tuesday evening.

For the first time, the Northern Territory’s top performing artists and organisations from the Top End to the Red Centre travelled to the Old Quarry south of Alice Springs for a sundowner to find out who would win in the 2024 NT Performing Arts Awards.

Spread across nine categories, winners were chosen by a panel of industry judges and recognised for their achievements both behind-the-scenes and on the stage.

The event was emceed by local media personalities Aaliyah Anderson and Shilo Monkland, with Fannie Bay MLA Laurie Zio making the trip to show the government’s support for the arts.

“The array of performances from dance to theatre, musicals to comedy, is a testament to the outstanding talent and the creativity in our Territory,” Ms Zio said.

“We’re building a vibrant arts sector that contributes to reducing crime, rebuilding our economy, and restoring our lifestyle.”

Two nominees took out the young achiever award for 2024, Grace Hendry and Georgia Cruickshank, with Ms Hendry calling it a “such an honour and an incredible surprise”.

Darwin’s Track Dance founder Tim Newth said he was honoured to receive the ultimate legend award.

“We believe in this wonderful thing called creativity and we do our best to share the joy that we know can bring the most deepest sense of feeling whole and complete as a human being, as community, and as a society,” he said.

“Together, we’re all legends.”
