A 27-year-old man has been killed after a tree fell on his tent and car in Kevington in Victoria’s high country.

A man has been killed after a tree fell on his tent and car in Victoria’s high country.

The 27-year-old Bayles man was at a campground near Eildon Jamieson Road in Kevington, north east of Melbourne, when a large tree fell onto about 3am on Saturday.

The man died at the scene.

Police are not treating the death as suspicious, a report is being prepared for the coroner.
Victoria was battered by thunderstorms on Friday, with flash flooding occurring in Geelong and Frankston after the deluge.

Melbourne recorded 32mm of rain since 9am on Friday while the airport saw 37mm.
