CHANNEL 10 is set to make an Australian version of Ellen DeGeneres’ Game of Games.
The top-secret family entertainment show, the subject of intense speculation for months, will screen in the final quarter of this year. Ten is yet to announce a host.
DeGeneres is the creator, presenter and executive producer of the US original, titled Ellen’s Game of Games, which premiered in America last December.

It has been a big ratings success, with more than 8 million viewers an episode. Australia is its first international spin-off.
“I’m thrilled that Game of Games is making its way to Australia on Ten and I’m already thinking of ways to make it better,” DeGeneres said. “For instance, in the US we drop contestants into vats of mashed potatoes, but in Australia it’s gonna be 100 per cent Vegemite.”
Each hour-long episode features super-sized versions of the most popular games from DeGeneres’ daytime talk show. Contestants are pulled directly from the audience and face a range of pressure cooker challenges for a big cash prize.
