Cairns Genesis gym teams up with Sportsworld
Two Cairns fitness businesses have teamed up to offer Far Northerners a new feature-packed health hub in Westcourt.

TWO big Cairns names in training have joined forces to create a one-stop training hub including training classes, a huge selection of weight machines, a 25m pool and child minding facilities.
Adding to its four existing Cairns locations Genesis Health and Fitness has teamed up with the Sportsworld (Gatton St) to offer fitness freaks a new feature-packed health hub in Westcourt.
The new workout space features access to over 25 heart-pumping classes per week, a bigger gym floor with over 55 pieces of cardio equipment and a Coaching Zone space, which offers 45-minute group personal training sessions for the beginner through to the advanced.
The new Genesis Sportsworld is led by existing club manager Mikella Hollands and Sportsworld owner Gary Bradley who has run the gym for the past 25 years.
“We are so excited to be offering this new feature-packed hub to members, with additional space and plenty of parking,” Mr Bradley said.
“With the space and combined offering, we can provide more and that means better variety and choice for locals when it comes to their health.
“Genesis 318 members and existing Sportsworld members will all benefit by getting access to more training options than they had previously.”
The new facility adds to a network of Genesis gyms at Cairns City, Redlynch, Smithfield and Edmonton.
Former Sportsworld members will continue on their current membership package with the option to upgrade to access new services like Coaching Zone.
The new club is located 268 Gatton St and basic membership starts from $9.95 per week.
Child minding is available between 9-11.30am Monday to Friday for $3 per hour.
The Coaching Zone space provides 45-minute group personal training sessions that uses hi-tech heart rate technology that measures a member’s individual effort.
Australian-owned company Genesis opened its first health and fitness club in 1997 and has now developed into one of Australia’s premier fitness organisations.
