Cairns’ leading businesses and entrepreneurs will be recognised for their achievements at the 2024 Business Excellence Awards, with tickets to the Gala Ball released to the general public.
The first round of judging has been completed, with more than 60 finalists across 10 categories in the running to win a Cairns Business Excellence Award.
Applications have now been handed over to the second panel of judges, with the winners set to be announced at the Gala Ball on Friday, October 18 at the Cairns Convention Centre.
Cairns Chamber of Commerce chief executive officer Patricia O’Neill said she was astounded by the calibre of finalists this year.
“These businesses are setting the benchmark for excellence in our region,” Ms O’Neill said.
“They are the movers, shakers and change makers. They are contributing to our town’s economic, social, cultural and environmental prosperity.”
The Business Excellence Awards, sponsored by James Cook University, recognise the achievements of businesses in the Cairns region and their contributions to the local community.
“The Gala Ball is an event on the Cairns business calendar not-to-be-missed,” Ms O’Neill said.
“Whether you are a finalist or simply want to experience a show stopping event, we invite you to join us for this celebration of business success.”
Finalists will be recognised at a VIP Cocktail Evening on Wednesday October 2 at Crystalbrook Flynn’s Whiskey and Wine Bar.
Tickets for the Gala Ball are on sale now on the Cairns Chamber of Commerce website.
