The Kennedy Highway has been reopened to traffic following multi-vehicle crash, which left three people hospitalised, on Thursday afternoon.
A Queensland Police Service spokesman confirmed the highway reopened to traffic at 5.50pm.
Earlier, emergency services responded to reports of a three-vehicle crash at Mount Garnet, 160km south west of Cairns on Thursday afternoon.
A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman confirmed three patients were taken to Atherton hospital in stable condition.
“We got the call at 2.45pm,” the spokeswoman said.
“A male in his 30s was transported with a foot or lower leg injury, a female in her 20s was transported with minor head and arms injuries and there was another patient with an arm injury.”
A QPS spokeswoman confirmed the highway was shut around 3.10pm
“As at 4.15pm, we had one lane open to get traffic flowing,” the spokeswoman said.
“Crews are on scene assisting with traffic.”
