Stylish, iconic or downright filthy. These haircuts are the best of the best in AFL Cairns. SEE THE BEST >>>

Across the ages, AFL as a whole has produced some of the greatest sportspeople Australia has ever seen.

It has also produced many iconic looks, many of which have graced the fields locally in AFL Cairns.

There’s plenty of unique haircuts among the seniors, and we’ve ranked our favourites from this season.

Honourable mentions:

Declan McDonald, Tigers – one of, if not the only player in seniors to sport dreads.

Damien Hill and Jase Tom, Cutters and Tigers – can’t go wrong with a man bun.

Jaiden Butson and Nick Thacker, Bulldogs – would definitely be picked to Slytherin House with their bleach-blonde cuts.

5. Jackson Calder, Lions

The style that definitely gets the retro points for this list, Calder’s look hearkens back to the Dermott Brereton era of curley blonde legends.

Pair that with an Mark Lee-style mo, and the Lions forward’s look is complete.

4. Jack Shanahan, Crocs

A cut (or lack thereof) makes Shanahan hard to miss amongst a crowd of brown-haired Aussie rules players.

The blonde footballer’s majestic mane might just be the secret to his ability to avoiding tackles.

3. Nathan Fry, Bulldogs

From the front, the cut doesn’t look anything special.

But from the sides and back, Fry sports a lengthy mullet that would make Billy Ray Cyrus blush.

2. Kamen Ogilvie, Bulldogs

Spotting Ogilvie in the contest is never hard thanks to his singular man bun.

The cut may also draw the attention of whoever’s supposed to be on the Bulldogs wingman, because he’s able to out-run nearly every opponent guarding him.

Not only is it stylish, but diverse as well as shown by Ogilvie’s brief change to braids earlier this year.

1. Corey Flint, Hawks

An easy pick for the top haircut in AFL Cairns, Flint’s filthy mullet is a work of art.

The gun midfielder told the Cairns Post earlier this year he’d been cultivating the piece for six years, and it shows.

The mullet is hard to miss on the field, mostly because of Flint’s speed and ability to attack nearly every possession which has him pegged as one of the comp’s best.

Pairing the mullet with the moustache is the icing on the cake for this iconic footy look.
