Don't miss out on the headlines from Cairns. Followed categories will be added to My News.
We’ve combed the record books and read through team lists from the 2000s to bring you 50 A-grade players to have shone on the fields of FNQ across the last 20 years.
However, some names are conspicuously absent from the list, so we’ve added five players who may have been unfairly left off the list.
You can have your say on whether a player is over or underrated on the list thanks to our interactive tool.
We’ve spoken with the likes of CDRL experts such as long time secretary Pat Bailey and former president John Moore as well as previous Cairns Post sports writers for their input.
This list prioritises accomplishments made at an A-grade level in the CDRL.
This includes career longevity, success achieved with a club (such as premierships), and a Gold Medal (or two) definitely guarantees a place on the list.

A Brothers legend has opened up on how his love for league led him to famously un-retire fpr his club.
We ranked Brethren second rower Jaime McIntosh as the CDRL’s 19th best player since 2000, but you - the reader - have told us otherwise.
The Gold Medallist was boosted to No.1 of 50 through our interractive polling tool.
McIntosh was a part of a dynamite Brothers dynsasty that sported the likes of Eels coach Brad Arthur and journeyman Robbie Swain.
When McIntosh un-retired to play in 2013, he said it was Swain who convinced him to come back.
“I’d been retired for eight years, and I got pretty fit in that time,” he said.
“The boys were struggling a bit, I couldn’t really sit on a hill and tell them they’re doing a bad job.
“So I thought I’d give it a go, I enjoyed it.
“The second year I think age caught up with me though.”
McIntosh is the current general manager of Norweld ute tray manufacturers, but he hasn’t forgotten his Brethren roots engaging in a number of roles with the club since re-retirement.
