UPDATE: A FURIOUS mum is considering legal action over an offensive Instagram account sexualising young girls as the Brighton Grammar students who set it up are kicked out of school.

The year 11 boys were suspended on Monday after the vile media posts were exposed, with the headmaster alerting all parents yesterday that they were not coming back.

Photos of girls as young as 11 in school uniform, and a 13-year-old wearing bikini bottoms and a singlet, were uploaded on to the app last week, calling for people to vote for the “slut of 2016”.

Brighton Grammar headmaster Ross Featherston said in his email that another “small group of students” was also implicated in the scandal and had been disciplined and counselled.

“The two boys who initiated the Instagram account are no longer students of Brighton Grammar School,” he wrote.

“The posting of last Friday is anathema to everything we stand for at Brighton Grammar School. However, given that it happened, I have contacted one of Australia’s leading cyber educators and plan to meet with her very soon to review our current programs of educating boys and providing guidance to parents on matters relevant to social media and the online world.”

The mother who first raised the alarm said she was looking at taking legal action. She was disgusted to discover on Friday that a picture of her grade 6 daughter in school uniform walking with classmates had been uploaded to the account without her knowledge.

She informed the school and reported it to police, who are still investigating.

“From my position, this horrible saga isn’t over,” she told the Herald Sun.

“My family met with our legal representatives yesterday to explore our options and there is an ongoing police investigation.

“I am still left with a little girl who is vulnerable, who has had her innocence taken from her, and that will take a long time to heal.”

She said this week she wanted to teach her daughters that “as women we will not be intimidated, harassed, violated or sexualised by anyone”.

It has also emerged another girl had been called a “ganga”, slang for slut, in a nasty Facebook post by one of the boys recently.

He also wrote that her face was “pretty funny to laugh at”.

“This is not an isolated incident,” the mum said.

The Instagram account was believed to be called ys_academy_puspus, short for “young sluts”, and has been shut down.

It is understood the year 11 boys’ parents chose to withdraw them after days of discussions with staff to avoid technical expulsions.
