FROCKS are unlikely to shock on the Logies red carpet tomorrow night.
Safe yet stylish is likely to be the choice for most at the annual Australian television awards.
Leading Australian designer and Australia’s Next Top Model judge Alex Perry, who is dressing Silver Logie nominee Marta Dusseldorp, Sonia Kruger and Sally Obermeder, says celebrities are increasingly relying on stylists to help finesse their appearance.

“That real shock Bjork Swan dress and the Susie Elelman outrageous dresses really are gone,” he says.
“People have become more fashion savvy. They don’t want to get caned for their fashion choices.”
“The Logies is Australia’s biggest red carpet event. You want to make sure you look your best.”
Steven Khalil, who is dressing six stars including Kate Ritchie, Rebecca Gibney, Paula Abdul and Jesinta Campbell, says rich winter hues of burgundy, gold and emerald will be popular choices.
Myer designer Aurelio Costarella, who is dressing Dannii Minogue, Lauren Phillips and Abby Earl, will also be on the red carpet for Channel 9’s pre-Logies coverage.
“I’m anticipating seeing quite a bit of colour. We’ll see some bright purples. Citrus and pink have been quite strong,” he says.
“I’m not expecting to see as much glitz — I think it will be quite pared back this year.”
Couture kings Jacob Pittorino and Anthony Luppino of J’Aton, who are dressing gold Logie favourite Asher Keddie, Rebecca Judd, Jessica Marais and Sandra Sully, say sharp and stylish silhouettes are likely to dominate.
Judd, who’s returning to present the weather on Nine News tonight after the arrival of Billie, 11 weeks, says she is excited to be wearing another show-stopping J’Aton gown.
Alicia Loxley, who’s also back at the weekend newsdesk after the birth of son Archie, five months, will change into a Hugo Boss gown and make the dash from Nine’s Docklands studios to Crown.
