A suspected street race has ended in a horror collision, leaving four people with injuries and their car in flames.

A suspected street race southwest of Sydney has ended in disaster after a car carrying four men was involved in a horror crash.

Emergency services were called to the Hume Highway in Greenacre about 9.50pm on Tuesday after receiving reports of a single-car collision.

First responders found a dark grey sedan had burst into flames after crashing into a utility pole, sustaining extensive damage.

According to 7 News, the car was allegedly travelling more than 100km/h in the 60km/h area in the moments leading up to the collision.

The driver, 19, and his three passengers all managed to escape the fiery wreckage.

The front seat passenger of the car, also aged 19, was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Westmead Hospital in a stable condition.

The driver was also treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics and was taken in a stable condition to Prince of Wales Hospital where he underwent further treatment and mandatory testing.

Police said the two male passengers in the back seat of the car, whose age is not known, were treated at the scene for minor injuries.

A crime scene has been established at the site of the crash and an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident has begun.

The crash marks yet another horror incident on Sydney’s roads after a brother and sister were killed in a head-on collision in the city’s south west on Friday night.

Police have not yet issued any charges associated with the alleged street racing event but have urged anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers.
