A 67-year-old cyclist has died after he was allegedly hit by a truck in a hit-and-run on a regional road.

An elderly cyclist has died after he was allegedly struck by a truck that failed to stop at the scene.

Emergency services were called to Henry Lawson Way at Glenelg, about 19km northwest of Grenfell, in western NSW about 11.10am on Monday following reports a cyclist had been found unconscious.

The 67-year-old cyclist was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics but he died at the scene.

Following inquiries, police believe the collision happened between 8.15am and 8.30am, with the truck believed to be travelling from Glenelg to Grenfell.

Police are urging anyone who may have seen an F Series Isuzu truck with a missing passenger side mirror or damage to the passenger door to contact police.

They are also appealing for anyone with dashcam footage of the vehicle or any information to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
