“I’m howling!”

TikTok creator Montana took to the platform this week to share a chaotic video of her friend working ‘from home’ in Bali.

“My friend is working remote from Bali and just jumped online to give this [very] important presentation she’s been prepping for weeks,” she said in the video.

“At the exact same time this Balinese dance performance starts right outside our door.

“I’m howling, it’s soooo loud and soo obvious she’s not in London right now.”

“I did exactly the same thing!”

Many viewers thought the video was hilarious and relatable, sharing their own similar stories of being caught pushing the boundaries of remote work.

“This so so funny I did exactly the same thing and my work people actually asked me what the noise was in the background ! I said I was having works done in my house 😂😂😂” one commenter said.

“Literally took a call as construction started on a patio with wind blowing my hair all over but acting like I’m in Colorado💀” another added.

“i had a call once inside the colosseum in Rome 😂 didn’t wanna cancel the day trip for the call,” said a third.

“Almost got fired when attended a meeting from a beach club bar in Malaga,Spain,” another shared.

Others praised the friend for her commitment, saying that this should be the way workplaces function.

“The presentation is still getting done. They need to mind their business 😬😬😬” one said.

“This is the future of work,” another added

Some even gave advice to others attempting to do the same thing.

“this is why you need a proper headset with noise suppression microphone!” one said.

“there's headsets that completely surprised all external sounds, my boss used to have meetings or do presentations at his local pub with everyone around 😂” said another.

“That’s why remote is getting removed”

However, lots of commenters also criticised the woman for working whilst on a holiday.

“That's why remote is getting removed slowly but surely. There is time for everything,” said one commenter.

“And this is why employers aren’t allowing wfh anymore 🙄” another agreed.

“The thing is this is against a lot of company guidelines,” said a third.

Others stated that trying to hide wasn’t worth it - with plenty of ways employers can find out the truth.

“I wanted to do that from Bangkok but then the IP was detected and I got blocked from outlook 🤣” one commenter said.

“Her IT department knows where she is,” said another.

“when you open microsoft teams and click on profile it will show the local time,” a third said.
