Krystiana, a mum-of-five from the US, recently went on a shopping trip for her kids.
Walking past Zara, she headed to the kid’s section, on the hunt for a few white singlets in the lead-up to summer.
But what she saw left her reeling.

“Can we bring back age-appropriate clothing for our little girls?”
“I was in the little girls’ section and I literally could not find a single tank top that wasn’t microscopic or a crop top,” the mum began.
Holding up a plain white singlet in her hands, she explained she was trying to find something for her three-year-old.
“I ended up finding her this,” she said in the clip, holding up the small top. “Do you know what size this is?” she posed to the audience.
“This is a size seven.”
Looking closer at the top, Krystiana then hesitated if it was even the right choice to begin with.

“This honestly might be too small for her,” she admitted. “We’re gonna try and hope this works.”
After a frustrating journey to find the right size for her toddler daughter, she then moved to the boys’ section, only to find the perfect size for her son.
“I found tank tops for my son, no problem,” she said, holding up another white singlet. “This is a size two or three.”

Upon first inspection, the boys’ singlet appears a little bigger than the girl’s version, but just wait.
“So this is a two or three in boys, and this is a size seven in girls,” she said, holding both up at the same time; the girls’ singlet was minuscule compared to the boys’ version.
“Look at this size difference,” she exclaimed. “It just doesn’t make any sense.”
She had one final message for the fashion retailer and other brands who may follow the same pattern: “Can we please bring back age-appropriate clothing for our little girls?”

“Why are crop tops for toddlers and kids even a thing?”
The mum-of-five was met with a wave of support, with parents worldwide sharing their concern for their kids’ clothing.
“I thought I was the only one wondering what happened to the appropriate little girls’ clothes,” a parent said.
“Don’t get me started, did you see the dresses with cut-outs?” asked a mum.
“My daughter is three-and-a-half and everything is so small for her,” a parent said.
“My daughter is eight and my son is three!” shared another. “Their clothes are the same size!”
Many parents have since resorted to buying boys’ clothes for their daughters.
“I buy my daughter boys’ shirts because she doesn’t like how tight girls’ shirts are,” one wrote.
“I have shopped in the boys’ section many times to find items for my girls,” another added. “They play as hard as their brother and want to be comfortable too!”
