THE biggest wheel in the Southern Hemisphere is now also the brightest, following a $1 million LED lighting upgrade earlier this week.
Light displays have always been a defining feature of the Melbourne Star Observation Wheel, but the recent state-of-the-art, energy efficient facelift puts it in a league of its own.
“The LED upgrade will give us more opportunities to design and produce creative light shows, which we are all really excited about,” said Nicole Hill, Head of Marketing at the Melbourne Star.
The attraction often gets behind major events such as the Grand Final and Lunar New Year in addition to lighting up for 25 charity fundraisers in the past year alone.
“We enjoy getting behind major events and celebrating our local community,” said Ms Hill. To celebrate the upgrade, Melbourne Star are offering $10 tickets to go on the wheel, but only for 10 days.
