‘I am so happy I’m a teen mum, I can do something older mums won’t be able to’

Esmie has always dreamed of becoming a mum at a young age, but she sparked a fierce debate online after revealing why.

Getting Pregnant At 13 Doesn’t Mean I'm A Bad Mum

A teen mum has sparked an online debate after revealing the shocking reason why she had a baby so young.

There are many reasons why someone will choose to become a parent. Whether they’ve always wanted to start a large family or want to start the next chapter in their lives.

As for Esmie, she simply wanted children for one reason, and it’s caused quite a stir online

Teen mum brags why she had a kid so young

“I’ve always wanted my own baby as soon as possible”

The first-time mum, who comes from the UK, welcomed her first daughter in 2023 after having fertility issues.

She was told she'd never be able to have a baby, so when Esmie learned she was pregnant, she couldn't believe her eyes.

And being a teen mum is everything she ever wanted; it’s nothing out of the ordinary for Esmie.

“My mum had me young,” she said. “I’ve always wanted my own baby as soon as possible and I made the best decision ever.”

And her pregnancy was planned, she stressed.

“I chose to have my baby,” she said. “I wanted her before she was even here, I knew what I wanted.”

But a recent TikTok clip really got people talking after Esmie said how she’d be spending her time once her child was old enough.

“I love being a teen mum,” she began. “I’ll be on the dance floor at 3am with my 18-year-old and you’ll all be making bottles.”

(For those who have done the maths, I’d like to note that Esmie didn’t actually have her first child at 12, she was 18.)

For the moment, Esmie is unable to go out clubbing, but that doesn’t mean she thinks she’s wasting her youth.

“I’m not missing out or wishing to go out,” she later explained. “I can’t wait to do it with her.”

“Cool mum era forever, even in our older age!”

The video racked up over 170,000 views, with other teen mums revelling in the future experiences they’ll share with their children.

“Had mine at 22,” said a parent. “Loved being a young-ish mum; 37 now and party with mine.”

“Literally me and my 18-year-old now lol, I had her at 17,” said another. “We love a night out together now.”

“I'll be the same, cool mum era forever, even in our older age,” said a third. “Full of life and love.”

But the thought of stepping into a nightclub over the age of 30 made others shudder.

“Had my son at 17 and can now confirm at 30, I couldn’t think of anything worse than clubbing,” someone laughed.

“As a 32-year-old, I can tell you, hitting the dance floor at 3am is the last thing I want to do,” said another.

Another mum complained they “lost the ability to stay up past midnight” as soon as they turned 30.

“At 30, you will want to go to bed a 9pm, I promise you,” read a comment. “Girl, we tired.”
