Fiona Falkiner suffers hilarious fake tan fail with son

If you’re a fake tanner then it's safe to say you’ve experienced at least one mishap, from waking up with an orange handprint on your face to forgetting to bronze your feet.
But Fiona Falkiner has learnt the hilarious way that fake tan and babies don’t always mix — and it’s something other mums have found oh-so-relatable.
Fiona, who gave birth to her son Hunter with fiancee Hayley Willis in March, shared a photo to Instagram on Sunday showing off her “tanning fail”.
“When Hunter face planted in to my neck … looks like he has been nuzzling the dirt,” she captioned the selfie.
The photo showed a sheepish-looking Fiona cradling Hunter, who had fake tan streaked across his face.

Fiona’s post got dozens of comments from other mums who said they too could relate to her “seriously funny” mishap.
“Sounds familiar. He will be nicely tanned tomorrow. Breastfeeding and tans aren’t friend,” one commenter said.
“I did this so many times to my babies,” one person wrote.
“Aww honey. Happens to the best of us,” another said.
One person helpfully recommended a solution, commenting: “Baby wipes!! They fix everything.”
But the fake tan fail didn’t end there, with Fiona explaining in a video shared to her Instagram stories how things had gotten hilariously worse.

“I fed him and then had him on my chest and I was giving him a burp,” she said, explaining she had gotten her first fake tan since giving birth.
“He literally projectile vomited up the whole feed on my chest and ruined my spray tan.”
Thankfully Fiona managed to salvage her tan, sharing a selfie of her prepping for a swimsuit photoshoot.
Fiona welcomed Hunter in March after conceiving through IVF last year, a gruelling process she and fiancee Hayley documented on their podcast, What The IVF?!
The couple got engaged in April 2019 during a holiday to Vanuatu after eight months of dating.
Fiona has previously spoken out about how “traumatic” and “lonely” IVF can be, revealing it was what prompted her to start the podcast.
In May last year she revealed her conception struggle writing on Instagram: “Fertility can be a scary word we don’t really like to talk about. Every day is hard. I have never questioned myself and my body so much.
“Trying to do all the things to make myself the perfect home for a little human, but sometimes even that is not enough.
“It’s a struggle mentally and physically and I just want to say to anyone else out there on this journey you are not alone.”
