Fiona Falkiner announces pregnancy on Instagram post

After months of fertility battles, the Aussie model and her fiancee, Channel Nine reporter Hayley Willis, are expecting their first child together.

Fiona Falkiner has announced she’s expecting her first child with fiancee Hayley Willis.

The Aussie model and former Biggest Loser host shared the exciting news with her 94,000 Instagram followers on Monday.

“It’s official – our little family will be gaining a member; baby Falkiner will be joining us in 2021,” the 37-year-old wrote.

“We are so excited about this new chapter of being mums together and giving this little bundle all the love in the world!

“Thank you to everyone who sent us prayers and baby dust, it worked!”

Falkiner and Willis, who is a Channel Nine journalist, have been trying for months to have a baby, with the TV personality previously describing the journey as “traumatic” and “lonely”.

“Obviously you have your partner but it can actually feel like a really lonely process,” Falkiner toldThe Daily Telegraph.

“It is you and your body against all odds. Women don’t really talk about it until after the fact. It can be really quite traumatic.”

In May, Falkiner told her Instagram followers she was really struggling with the process.

“Fertility can be a scary word we don’t really like to talk about. Every day is hard. I have never questioned myself and my body so much,” she wrote at the time.

Fiona and her fiancee Hayley Willis are expecting their first child together in March 2021.

“Trying to do all the things to make myself the perfect home for a little human, but sometimes even that is not enough.

“It’s a struggle mentally and physically and I just want to say to anyone else out there on this journey you are not alone.”

But today, the pair, who got engaged in April last year, are overjoyed after finally revealing they’re expecting.

“We did it my love,” Willis wrote on Instagram.

“It’s hard to put into words how incredibly proud I am of you. All of our family dreams are finally coming true.

“Feeling incredibly blessed and absolutely over the moon to begin this new chapter of our lives. I can’t wait to be a Mumma with you!”

Willis, 30, had told The Daily Telegraph she really wants to carry a baby too but her fiancee will go first because she is older.

“Fi will go first just because of the body clock on fertility so her going first is best. I will give it a crack after we have our first child,” she told the publication last month.

Hundreds of people have already flooded the couple’s posts with congratulations.

“Congratulations to you both. Such amazing news after listening to your journey on the podcast,” one follower wrote.

“Wow that’s fantastic! Congrats to you both, ” another added.

“Couldn’t be happier for you,” a third wrote.

The pair said baby Falkiner is due in March next year.
