Airline claps back at comedian's common complaint

“Idk why people complain so much about Ryanair. It's cheaper than a taxi lol that's what matters."

Ryanair's witty clapback: No window seat complaint

If you’ve ever travelled Europe on a budget, there’s a good chance you’ve flown on Ryanair.

The Irish budget airline is famous for taking advantage of Europe’s deregulation of the aviation industry in the late 1990s and establishing itself as a force that serves more than 40 countries with more than 500 planes.

In fact, it is the largest airline in the world by scheduled passengers as of 2016, and regularly offers airfares for less than $30.

It’s also become known in recent times for its social media game, apparently, as one comedian found out the hard way recently.

Common complaint for budget airline

Irish comedian Eric Roberts posted a video on Instagram showing off his lack of a view from seat 11A on the airline’s Boeing 737-800.

Seat 11A has become infamous online for its lack of a window, although Ryanair does have warnings on restricted viewing seats during its booking process.

In the video, Eric filmed himself awkwardly looking at the inside of the fuselage with a caption ‘When you pay extra for a window seat with Ryanair’.

The social media folks at the airline clearly found the video, as they soon stitched the video with a voice over saying ‘Can you literally not read?’ before showing the ‘no window’ warning on a booking for seat 11A.

Eagle-eyed viewers also noticed the name used on the fake booking was ‘Silly Passenger’.

"Ryanair marketing team understood the assignment"

People were quick to react online, with many praising the marketing team for their sense of humour.

“Airline ❌️, meme company ✅️✅️,” one person wrote.

“Ryanair marketing team 💯💯💯,” another person commented.

“How many warnings does the average Ryanair flyer need before they confirm a no window seat?,” another person asked. “The limit does not exist.”

“Ryanair marketing team understood the assignment.”

"Thank God I can't read these comments"

Other people questioned why Eric was complaining about such a cheap airline.

“Bro got 10 dollar flight and he's complaining,” one person wrote.

“Idk why people complain so much about Ryanair. It's cheaper than a taxi lol that's what matters,” another person said.

“That man paid 12 euros to travel between Dublin and Agadir and has the nerve to complain about anything,” another person wrote.

Thankfully it seems like the post was all in good fun. Eric has a history of posting videos from the inside of Ryanair flights, and he even responded to this video, saying “Thank God I can’t read these comments”.
