FIRST AID

Australian Red Cross First Aid Training

The Australian Red Cross has four first aid courses online which cover general skills, CPR, basic emergency life support and emergency first aid response (designed for educators or carers).

INCLUDED: Course information, learning module to complete online.

COST: CPR training: $60, emergency life support: $100, basic first aid $155 (one day course, $70 for 4 hours), first aid in education and care setting: $190. First aid for babies and children: $85 for four hours.

Australian Red Cross Pet First Aid Course

Learn how to best look after your pet dog or cat in an emergency in this online course. Choose between the 30-60 minute online module or the extra kit bundle which includes bandages, dressings and more.

INCLUDED: The online course (desktop or tablet compatible) teaches the basics of pet first aid, but also teaches preventive measures to keep your pet healthy.

COST: $35 for online course, $69.95 for kit bundle.

This course teaches you how to support your colleagues in times of need, especially those working remotely.

INCLUDED: An online module includes an assessment and on completion a certificate. The course takes about 35 minutes.

Been meaning to write that novel? The Australian Writers Centre has online courses to take in a classroom setting or at your own pace.

Learn how to write travel pieces, fiction, nonfiction and copywriting, among others. Classroom courses typically take five to eight weeks to complete.

Morso Food

Learn how to make pasta like a professional with Chef David Powell’s one-on-one online classes at Morso Food. Each class is tailored to what you want to learn, but will include how to make focaccia, two pastas and sauces from scratch.

INCLUDED: Classes start from March 30 via Zoom, Skype, Google Hangouts or Facetime. You won’t need a pasta maker or any fancy kitchen equipment for this class.

Learn a new language in as little as four to six weeks. VLLC’s certificate programs teach you how to master one of 12 languages, either Arabic, Mandarin, English, French, German, Greek, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Russian, Thai or Spanish. You can also learn the basics in a self-paced foundation course.

INCLUDED: Courses include regular lessons in your chosen language via Skype.
