Kim Cattrall is returning to Sex and the City in 'And Just Like That' Season 2

The actress reportedly filmed her cameo "without seeing or speaking with the stars of the series."

Kim Cattrall is set to return to Sex and the City's spin-off TV series, And Just Like That - but hold onto your cosmos, because there's a major caveat to the news. 

While Cattrall will reprise her role as Samantha Jones in the upcoming season, Variety  reports that it'll only be for a brief cameo in the finale (set to air in August) and it will "not be a continuation of the character."

Cattrall will appear in one scene during the season two finale

According to Variety, Cattrall, 66, will appear in "just one scene" and it was filmed without having any contact with her fellow cast including Sarah Jessica Parker. 

She also didn't see or speak to the And Just Like That showrunner Michael Patrick King whilst filming her scene in New York in March.

Insiders also shared that costume designer Patricia Field - who doesn't even work on the show - dressed her for the scene. 

These details seem to confirm the not-so-secret tensions between Cattrall, her castmates and the show. 

But without any contact with the cast, what exactly will her cameo look like?

Well, fans of the show will know that everyone's favourite publicist Samantha Jones has moved to London and away from her friends.

So in the scene, she'll have a phone conversation with SJP's Carrie Bradshaw. 

It comes after the pair made plans to see each other in order to reconcile in the finale of season one.

'All feels right in the world again'

While Cattrall's tiny return might not be everything that we hoped for, it's still left SATC/AJLT fans completely beside themselves. 

"World peace is possible!" someone declared on Instagram after hearing the news.

"WHATTTT?!!! Is this even real?" a different fan asked.

"And just like that, I'm watching again," someone else joked.

"This will be the highest viewed episode ever," another wrote.

Then another added: "THANK GOD! All feels right in the world again."
