I'm A Celeb goes... musical? Robert Irwin sends fans into frenzy with bizarre new promo

Move over, Hugh Jackman, Australia has a new musical man, and he comes in khaki!

I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! has dropped its new promo for its upcoming season, and new co-host Robert Irwin has brought a touch of Broadway to the jungle.

Replacing Dr. Chris Brown, the Wildlife Warrior has flexed his unheard-of singing and dancing (and biceps!) skills to promote the new season premiering on March 24.

I’m a Celeb’s musical number

In the clip posted to the I’m a Celeb Instagram account, Julia Morris is shown talking on the phone with her wish-list for her new co-host before Irwin Tarzan swings into frame to kick off his show tune.

"Just think of what we could do, remember I was born in Australia Zoo," he sings. "I may be only 20, but I come from Wildlife royalty!"

Julia chimes into the tune, “Well, you do have unnatural amounts of energy.”

The clip goes on to show Irwin holding a snake and a spider before busting out into a can-can dance.

Fans are excited!

The comments section of the video erupted with excitement from across the world as fans shared their anticipation for the new host and season.

“Bloody ripper can’t wait for it to start. Looking forward to watching Julia and Robert working together,” shared one fan.

Another was nostalgic and emotional as they wrote, “It's kinda emotional watching someone grow up on TV & become successful. 

“I remember when he was just a toddler in that Wiggles movie. Now he's becoming a legend. Simply amazing. Good job, Rob!”

Fans across the world began questioning how to watch the show outside of Oz, “How can I stream it in the US?” another replied, “ I second this question.”

An unlikely duo

In 2023, the departure of long-time host, Dr Chris Brown left Julia Morris "deeply sad." 

However, with the announcement of Irwin as Chris' replacement, Julia is now "absolutely overjoyed" to work with Robert in what she describes as an "unlikely duo." 

"It's a huge honour to be the new co-host of I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! I can't wait to plunge back into the incredible African jungle and introduce our celebrities to the magnificent wildlife that call the jungle home," Irwin said.

"Most of all, I'm thrilled to have the opportunity to work alongside the incredibly kind and talented Julia Morris. Crikey! This is going to be a wild ride!"
