RHOM: Gamble Breaux reveals brutal toll of Real Housewives of Melbourne

Real Housewives of Melbourne’s leading lady Gamble Breaux opens up on her heartache ahead of the show’s new season.

The new season of Real Housewives of Melbourne promises to be a doozy, with the show’s leading lady, Gamble Breaux, blindsided.

“I was disappointed, I thought I had a best friend and I thought we had a connection; it was all games,” she says.

“But guess what? I was the wrong target. When it blew up, I was 10 times crankier that I expected I would be. She came in guns blazing.”

All will be revealed in RHOM season five, but Gamble says the hurt was exacerbated because she was physically and emotionally spent from filming, plus putting together an art exhibition for her late father, Barry Donohoo, and juggling studio time for her new pop/rock music release.

“But, you know, it’s sport, I don’t know how else to explain it, but it’s the most fun sport on earth with evenly matched women who are all trying to get in the best jabs. Sometimes they get you good and you think, ‘I’m coming for you’.” That said, Gamble says all is well with the cast.

“They’re all good girls. It’s more about the combat, none of us are violent, we go on our wit. Nothing like some of the US Real Housewives.”

In contrast, Gamble’s home is an oasis of calm, with Hamptons style accents.

“I like Hamptons because it’s a big blingy but is still clean and fresh. This is the home I am most proud of, and I feel finally settled. Lockdown in this house was not so bad.”

AT HOME WITH GAMBLE BREAUX

Who: Real Housewives of Melbourne, Gamble Breaux.

Where: Mornington Peninsula with her husband Dr Rick Wolfe.

Favourite things: I am a registered dog breeder and there are so many misconceptions about that. If any of my dogs are deserted they are registered to come straight back to me – never to a shelter.

Inspiration: Hamptons.

Home is: The feeling of being at my grandmother’s house, where you feel safe and loved. It’s really that simple for me.

GAMBLE BREAUX’S FAVOURITE THINGS

Owl purse

This is one of the handbags from my collection that didn’t sell. Most of my career ideas have not been followed up for no rhyme or reason, but I do love this bag. It’s one of the most beautiful bags I’ve ever had.

Vintage kids ride-on

Jolly ride on.
Jolly ride on.

This belongs to my stepson Luke. His mother Roz Roy has now passed away, but she was quite skilled in renovating and fixing things. She restored this to jolly red and it’s a nice connection to Rick and Luke.

He is a famous photographer and I am very blessed to have worked with him. He does all my music videos and covers. This is an old photo he took years ago. Nope, it’s not me.

Guitars

I love guitars and I wish I had learned to play earlier. I play to accompany myself when I write my lyrics or sing. I can play something with three easy chords and I like the ukulele too. It has a fun holiday vibe.

Hat

I’ve worn this hat in my music video. It’s made by local milliner Louise McDonald, and basically I love wearing a hat. Actually, I think we should all start wearing hats again. Brunch at the park? Wear a hat.

Trauma teddies

My mother knits these and donates them to the hospital. Now, with Covid, she wasn’t able to get them to the hospital, but it’s such a sweet thing to do.

Pop art

My father was artist Barry Donohoo. This was something he had done on old butcher’s paper and I turned it into pop art. I told my family that if they didn’t help create an art gallery for his work I would turn all his work into pop art.

Plants

If I can keep my plant alive for a year then maybe I can have children. Well, actually, this is my child plant. I like to propagate plants, so this one has had many babies, unlike myself.
