With barbecue weather on the horizon, ALDI wine buyer Jason Bowyer has rated the supermarket’s new spring collection.

There’s something for every taste including lighter white wines, roses, chilled reds and sparkling wine— most costing under $10 a bottle.

COST: $8.99

RATING : Made from grapes grown in New South Wales’ Riverina region, this rose-style wine tastes of fresh red berries. Best paired with salad, grilled fish and Thai food.

PIEDRA NEGRA ARGENTINIAN ORGANIC PINOT GRIS

COST: $9.99.

RATING: This organic pinot gris is made from grapes grown on the Andes Mountains in Argentina. Think lime, lemon and white flower aromas and flavours. Pair with tapas, melon and Iberico ham and cucumber velouté with ginger.

NERISSIMO VERDECA IGP PUGLIA 2019

COST: $9.99.

RATING: This ‘green wine’ (a white wine blend) from Italy’s Pulgia region tastes of white stonefruit, grape fruit, citrus and has white floral and oak aromas. Best paired with seafood.
