IF YOU LIKE BUBBLES …

JACOB, Sparkling, Premium Cuvee, 2017

Made from the same grapes as champagne, this South Australian sparkling wine is perfect to pair with seafood like oysters, BBQ scallops or calamari, and has aromas of baked apple, nougat and bread.

Taltarni, Blanc de Blancs, 2016

Grown in western Victoria’s Pyrenees region and made from 100 per cent chardonnay grapes, this sparkling wine has apple and brioche flavours and aromas of green apple and cinnamon.

IF YOU LOVE WHITE WINE …

De Bortoli, 17 Trees pinot grigio, 2020

IF YOU LOVE A RED IN SUMMER...

6ft6, pinot noir, 2019

While it’s a stretch to include the commemorative Gary Ablett Jnr pinot noir in this under $30 wine list (those limited edition bottles cost $149 each and have since sold out). Austins sister label 6ft6 has a great value pinot noir, which pairs perfectly with salmon, pasta or lamb.

Think juicy plum, blackcurrant jam, licorice spice and a hint of vanilla bean. This South Australian wine drinks nicely with osso bucco, beef bourguignon, or aged cheddar.

This Rob Dolan rose is made from 100 per cent pinot noir grapes and has aromas of cherry, red currant and rose petals. It’s packed with red currant flavours and has a textural, savoury finish.
