Footy superstar David Neitz isn’t a stranger to working up a sweat — or hard-earned thirst.
The former Melbourne star will be slipping on the Lycra for the first ‘Sip and Sweat’ rooftop pilates and beer event at his Brewmanity pub next month.
The one-off event is combining mat pilates with boozy beer smoothies, as part of the annual American Express delicious. Month Out, on Sunday May 5.
“I’m more into sipping than sweating these days, but if you’re into fitness, it’ll be fun,” he said.
The 45-minute session will be hosted by a qualified pilates instructor, with guests served snacks and three types of “boozy smoothies” after the class, including one made with a limoncello-infused sour beer.
Another berry vodka creation will infuse fruit plucked from the nearby South Melbourne Market. Don’t worry, none will be made with milk.
“It’s just a bit of fun. If you’ve never tried mat pilates or you’re a long time pilates advocate, this will have something for everyone,” he said.
“I’m not sure how impressive I look in Lycra these days, but I’ll give it a go.”
Tickets cost $40 per person, which includes the 45-minute class, two-hour food package at Brewmanity and one cocktail per person. Additional drinks are charged on consumption.
The event is part of the impressive 2024 AEDMO program, which launched Thursday.
This year’s program is packed with a bounty of dining deals offered across a range of venues in Melbourne and Australia for the entire month of May.
