Chef’s Guide: Where to eat, drink in Williamstown

From the delicious brunch, healthy Roman-style pizzas and the best Vietnamese — here are the best spots to eat and drink in Williamstown.

Where Melbourne's food icons like to eat

From the best chilli scrambled eggs, healthy Roman-style pizzas and great looking and tasting Vietnamese — here are the best spots to eat and drink in Williamstown, according to Porters head chef Cathlyn Chow.

KODAMA

For the best chilli scrambled egg this side of town, Kodama Cafe is a must! It’s a cosy, little spot for a classic Melbourne brunch and quality coffee. I also make sure to always take home one of their freshly-baked loaves of bread with me whenever I visit.

69-71 Stevedore St

CROWDED HOUSE

This is by far my favourite place for coffee. The owner, Luke Houliis, is the type of guy who remembers and calls you by your name whenever you come in. Has a beautiful courtyard out the back.

48 Ferguson St

SANTORINI

Santorini is the perfect place to take the family. The restaurant is situated in the Old Williamstown Post Office, a heritage-listed building constructed in 1859. I highly recommend ordering the meat platter.

1 Parker St

MS KIM

This restaurant serves up the best Vietnamese food in the area. Packed full of flavour, dishes look, taste and smell amazing and eating here is a great sensory experience. Fun fact; Ms Kim herself, the owner of the restaurant, was formerly a grand finalist on My Kitchen Rules in 2018.

147 Nelson Pl

3 GRAINS

Using traditional Roman methods, 3 GRAINS serves up a different kind of pizza that Melburnians are used to. Their delicious Roman-style pizzas use a minimum of three flour mixes and are left to ferment for three days, creating dough that is not only lighter than regular pizza but also better for you.

68 Stevedore St, Williamstown

LWS (Lower West Side)

This local wine bar offers an exquisite selection of wines from all over the world, paired with European tapas-style share plates and of course, charcuterie boards. The atmosphere is relaxed yet elegant.
