$15 Big W buy shoppers raving about

A fashion stylist has sent bargain lovers into a spin after sharing a budget pair of shorts from Big W that could easily be mistaken for an expensive designer pair.

Gen, who is best known on social media as @thisisgenevieve_, spotted the $15 sage green “&me Women’s Tailored Short” in stores.

She styled the essential wardrobe item with the discount retailer’s $12 “&me Boxy Tee” as well as a pair of black sandals with a matching bag for a laid-back look.

“Sharing my @bigwaustralia finds,” the Canberra woman wrote.

Gen’s almost 13,000 strong following were quick to comment on the outfit, praising the shorts and declaring her find had convinced them to head into Big W.

“I never think to go to big W! You have changed my mind!” one said.

“Making budget look boujee as always,” another wrote.

As one declared: “Oooh those green shorts though!!”

“I think I need these shorts,” someone else mused.

“I need to go to @bigwaustralia ASAP,” one added.

One follower even declared the shorts a “must have”, crediting the garment’s impressive design which includes a tailored cut with a wide leg as well as pockets and belt loops for accessorising.

The shorts also come in black with sizes ranging from XS to XL.

Interestingly, the $15 summer essential bears a striking resemblance to a pair of designer shorts from Shona Joy that cost $240, prompting some to describe the Big W version as a “dupe”.

It’s not the only fashion item on offer in Big W that has caught attention recently, with the brand’s “&me bow-back dress” recently going viral.

The $45 item, which features a summery yellow, orange and pink floral print, has proved a hit among bargain lovers who described it as “lovely”.

One social media user, Holly Merrie, said the dress was a “stunner” and added she loved the neckline and backless design.

“I love that the front is stretchy and the sleeves cup your arms perfectly,” she said in a TikTok video. “It is backless, but in a way that you can still wear a bra and I will always advocate for that because I am a bra girl.”
