Target has customers rushing into store to pick up a $40 version of a designer item.

The retailer recently introduced the Lily Loves panelled bodice top in three colours — black, khaki and ivory — for $40 in sizes four to 20.

There is also a matching skirt, which also retails for $40, and a pair of trousers that has a $50 price tag.

However, many shoppers are comparing the top to a $120 version from Australian brand Kookai.

TikTok user Ruby Grace was on such fan of the range, taking to the social media app to sing its praises.

Shoppers are loving this fashion dupe

“To the girly who did the public service announcement that Target was doing Kookai dupes, I love you so much,” she said.

“I got the top, skirt and the pants.”

She said she had one version from Kookai and one from Target and she said the boning and lining were the “exact same”.

Kasey Tattersall said she got a “steal” when she went into the department store and discovered the clothing items.

“I have this top from Kookai — it’s $120 but it is stunning. It looks absolutely beautiful on the body,” she said.

“I waddle into Target today, and what the f***.”

She said the tops were essentially the same but Target’s version was more flared at the bottom.

“But it is still gorgeous. My jaw actually dropped when I saw this at Target,” Kasey said.

Taylah Hotham said people were truly not lying when they say “Target is in their slay era” after discovering the collection in store.

“I went into my local Target today and I checked out their new pieces,” she said.

“If you love Kookai then you need to check out their new range because these are literally identical to the Kookai tops and they are so incredibly flattering.”

She said she wasn’t expecting to fall in love with each of the colours, and revealed she bought all of them.

Carrie Kirkman, Head Merchant at Target Australia, told news.com.au that the range has proved incredibly popular since it was introduced.

“We are thrilled that customers are loving the latest Lily Loves collection; the panelled bodice top, pintuck pants and pleated cargo mini skirt have quickly become must-have seasonal items,” Ms Kirkman said.

“At Target, we look to deliver quality, on-trend fashion with price and versatility in mind. “Each piece in this collection strikes the perfect balance of quality, style and price that we’re famous for.”
