Hoppers Crossing girl shaves her head for charity

A brave Hoppers Crossing eight-year-old has today shaved off her locks for charity, raising more than $2400.

Myahh Raponi, a Grade 3 student at Cambridge Primary School, told the Wyndham Leader she was happy to part with her hair if it meant saving people’s lives.

“I just care about people and their families,” she said.

The whole school watched on as principal Honey Stirling fired up the razor and took the first shave.

Mum Bree Tresidder, who lost her grandmother to cancer last year, said watching Myaah shave her head in front of the whole school was an emotional experience.

“I’m just so proud of Myaah,” she said.

“Losing her great-grandma last year was really hard and she doesn’t want others to go through that.

“She saw the ads (for The World’s Greatest Shave) on TV and just decided she wanted to do it — it was her way of helping.”

Myaah also donated her hair to be made into wigs for cancer patients.
