A woman has been rushed to hospital after an early morning fire broke out in the garage of her Point Cook home.

Emergency services arrived at Miami Drive shortly before 6.20am after a triple-0 caller reported smoke rising from a property.

“Fire Rescue Victoria crews arrived to find a fire in the garage of a house,” a Fire Rescue Victoria spokeswoman said.

“Wearing breathing apparatus, firefighters attacked the flames, quickly bringing the incident under control.”

Two people were assessed and treated at the scene by paramedics, according to an Ambulance Victoria spokeswoman.

“A woman in her 50s was taken to Werribee Mercy Hospital in a stable condition with upper body injuries,” she said.

A power and gas company also attended the scene.
