A woman has died after crashing her car into a parked truck in Melbourne’s inner west on Thursday afternoon.
Emergency services were called to Kororoit Creek Rd at Williamstown North, near the corner of Maddox Rd, just after 1.30pm to reports of a serious collision.
It is understood a small, dark-coloured hatchback crashed into a parked track about 1.30pm.
The driver of the car, a yet to be identified woman, died at the scene.
Police have spoken to witnesses at the scene, as well as the truck driver.
Motorists are being asked to avoid the area as police and the State Emergency Service continue to process the scene.
“All westbound lanes are closed at Maddox Road, due to a collision. The scene is under control of Victoria Police. Motorists may consider using Blackshaws Rd instead,” Vic Roads said earlier.
It is understood the Williamstown-bound lanes on Kororoit Creek Rd are reopening ahead of peak hour traffic.
Police said the investigation was ongoing.
