Violent criminal remorseless for his crimes, Sunshine court hears

A Melbourne man who harassed his kids’ case worker with 180 pornographic texts chillingly told the woman he’d “never stop trying to ruin her”.

Christopher Rosewarne, 39, pleaded guilty to using a carrier service to harass after inundating his children’s child protection worker with pornographic texts.

A creep who harassed a child protection worker with more than 100 disgusting pornographic messages has been jailed.

Christopher Rosewarne, 39, a father of five, sent his children’s case worker 180 “highly offensive” texts containing sexually explicit images and videos in August last year, Sunshine Magistrates’ Court heard on Tuesday.

Magistrate Bhai said he chillingly told the woman he would “never stop trying to ruin her”.

She said his excuse — he was acting out because he cared about his children — was ironic given the intimidating behaviour he’d showed the woman whose job it was to protect them.

That same month, Rosewarne brutally bashed a man in a Melton bus in a sickening attack that left the man hospitalised for four days.

He also threatened to kill his neighbour, who he believed was having an affair with his wife, the court heard.

“You have been assessed by corrections as having a high risk of reoffending,” Ms Bhai told the court.

“In my view your prospects for rehabilitation are guarded.”

Ms Bhai said Rosewarne had priors for violent criminal offending and told the court she believed Rosewarne had little remorse for his actions.

Rosewarne pleaded guilty to charges including using a carriage service to harass, assault, recklessly cause injury, making threats to kill and breaching his bail.

Ms Bhai sentenced him to 16 months’ jail and 28 day’s jail.
