The world’s most iconic children’s band will make its grand return to Melbourne’s west, with tickets expected to “sell out like hot potatoes”.
The Wiggles will make their grand return to Werribee for one day only in June, 12 months after Melbourne’s west was painted yellow, red, blue and purple with several sell out concerts as part of the Wiggles Superhero Tour.
Anthony, Tsehay, Simon, Lachy, Caterina, Lucia, and John will perform more than 30 songs as part of the Hello we’re the Wiggles tour, which also feature popular characters including Captain Feathersword, Dorothy the Dinosaur, Wags the Dog, Henry the Octopus, Shirley Shawn the Unicorn and Bok the Hand Puppet.
The group will perform three shows at the Werribee Cultural Centre on June 27, with tickets anticipated to sell rapidly when they go live next week.
The Wiggles have sold out more than 60 concerts Australia-wide this year as part of this tour.
The Werribee Cultural Centre – which has a capacity of about 500 seats – has been a happy home out west for the Wiggles, with the venue hosting seven Wiggles tours since 2012.
Other locations as part of this tour of Melbourne’s suburbs include Box Hill, Dandenong and Moonee Ponds, with fans also expected to fill the band’s arena gigs at Hamer Hall and the Melbourne Recital Hall in their thousands.
Last year The Wiggles added another award to their stacked list by taking out first place in Triple J’s Hottest 100 with their cover of Tame Impala’s “Elephant”.
Tickets go on sale Monday 10am.
Children 12 months and under go in free.
