Two western suburbs residents will be laughing all the way to the bank after scoring a $1 million Tattslotto win.
Sanctuary Lakes Lucky Lotto owners Aubrey and Belinda Matthee said they couldn’t think of a better way to kick of the year than with a cash windfall for their customers.
They said they were ecstatic to see two locals cash in $1.06m from the draw, which was held on Boxing Day and made six lucky division one winning ticket holders instant millionaires.
“What a way to enter 2021, especially with the challenging year Victorians have all experienced,” Mr Matthee said.
“This is our second division one win in nearly three years … we’d like to congratulate our winners on this significant win. We wish them a prosperous 2021. It can only get better.”
The winning ticket holders and longtime friends, both from Point Cook, have been playing the same numbers for years.
They chose to remain anonymous but one of the winners said she already had plans for her half of the cash.
“I want my floorboards done. I’ve got carpet under the dining table and I’ve always wanted floorboards. I might get a new car too. I also want to help my family, I’ll be able to help them a lot,” the woman said.
“We’ve been using the same numbers all this time. He (my friend) gave me some numbers, then I had some numbers, and we just drew them out of a hat to put on our entry.”
The winning numbers from Tattslotto draw 4115 were 21, 2, 32, 30, 11 and 5. The supplementary numbers were 25 and 42.
Three of the six division one winners were from Victoria, two from Western Australia and one was from Tasmania.
