An armed woman with an alcohol and drug problem threatened a shopkeeper with a syringe during a brazen armed robbery at Altona North IGA, a court has heard.
Randi Korau, 34 from Altona North, pleaded guilty to armed robbery and committing an indictable offence while on bail charges in the Melbourne Magistrates Court on Wednesday.
Police say she threatened a staff member with an insulin syringe about 2pm on June 6.
She stole three bottles of whiskey and two bottles of coke during the incident, which police valued at $200.
Korau was arrested by detectives from Hobsons Bay Police Station and charged over the incident three days later.
In court, her lawyer Christina Cussen, requested the matter be heard in the Drug and Alcohol Court, indicating her client had addiction issues that needed to be treated.
Korau appeared via video link from jail and will next appear in the County Court on October 4.
